TLG's 100kN rig
is capable of carrying out in situ testing to 40m in
water depths of up to 2,000 metres.
The Cone Penetration Test is based on pushing an instrumented
cone into the ground at a constant speed, with continuous
measurement of the cone and resistance, the friction
along the sleeve of the cone, and the pore water pressure.
These measurements make it possible to evaluate accurately
the ground conditions and stratigraphy over the penetrated
depth.
The
system is designed to use 10cm²
piezocones. The probe
is pushed into the seabed using a well-proven 100kN
nominal thrust unit, electric powered ROSON friction
wheel drive unit. Maximum penetration is in the order
of 40 metres depending on the height of installed mast
and soil type.
This
drive unit is placed in a rugged frame that can accommodate
the support systems required to CPT the seabed with
this drive unit. |

The
40kN ROSON CPT SYSTEM
is especially designed
for geotechnical surveys of cable and pipeline routes.
With a seabed load of 5.7kPa, the seabed CPT unit is
capable of penetrating up to 10 metres into the seabed.
The seabed CPT unit is supported
by 2100m umbilical cable stored on special winches.
It is also adaptable to utilize an acoustic data transmision
data.

The
DOWNHOLE CONE PENETROMETER SYSTEM is
another marine equipment provided by TLGH. This latching
sub consists of three special drill collars, with locking
grooves, spacers and stop-ring for Wison-APVD 50/100
kN and Wip Sampler.

The
TLG RIG II (MOBILE DRILLING RIG)
is designed for simple, quick, timely mobilisation for
any offshore soil investigation project. The drilling
system is motion - compensated and comes together with
a hydraulic push sampling system and wireline PCPT.
The original rig had performed
notable jobs for Total Sirri, Offshore Iran and Elf
Aquitaine Offshore Qatar in 1995/1996, through a joint
venture with Geodia, France.
The complete mobile drilling rig
can be easily packed(approximately 12 nos. x 20' container
/ flat rack) for delivery any assigned destination/
port and installed any suitable 3rd party vessels (with
a 4 point motoring system) for offshore soil envestigation
works.
The
complete mobile drilling rig package was utilized for
ONGC's, shallow water soil investigation works at coastal
locations from the Bay to the Gulf Mannar in March 2001. |

The
MARINE DRILLING RIG ON
TEKNIK SAMUDRA is equipped
with drill that is equipped with drill that is capable
to drill centreline in plane of front chords. Ladder
are sited so as to allow safe and convenient access
to rooster box at any position in derrick.
It's
Swivel is fully gimballed and equipped with mud swivel
and actuated ball valve, rated to 1000 psi to give 4"
their access for sample tools.

The INSITU VANE
is equipped with a special probe that can measure insitu
shear strength of the soil.
The probe gives a linear voltage proportional to the
shear strength. An electric motor fixed to a gearbox
rotates the tube string that is couple to the probe.
This assembly can be moved vertically in a special reaction
frame. The vane test will be performed in pre-drilled
holes. Used in conjuction with a Wison-APVD wireline
penetrometer equipped with a special vane protection
tube, the probe can be pushed into the soil to the required
test level.
A portable analog measuring system with controls and
digital displays for torgue and angle of rotation is
connected to the probe. The speed is adjustable between
0, 1 degree and 1 degree per second. The reading of
the maximum torque is held for a couple of minutes.
In-situ vane result is plotted on screen in real time
and data can be saved in hard disk or disketters for
hard copy.
